These
are my favorite shawls to make. Both of my sisters-in-law, my nieces
and my mother-in-law have one of these. They are fairly quick to
make (about a day or two) and can be made from any combination of
yarn and trim. I used an eyelash yarn for the trim and a Caron yarn
in this photo.
Looks great in school / college colors or your choice of available
color(s).
Gradient yarn availability is limited to pink, blue. black-grey,
& green. Pink gradient is shown below.

I made this
black diagonal-striped shawl for my mother-in-law for our Christmas
Dinner. She is pictured below wearing it. It did not take long to
make, about one day. |

Wanting
a simple shawl for myself, i made this for the occasional early-fall
chill. Upon seeing it, my mother-in-law wanted one so I gave it
to her.

This
I made from a test pattern from the web. My mother-in-law wanted
a shawl so I made this during the fall of 2005. It came out nice
and only took a few days to make.
(If you are counting, she now has 4 shawls, plus another one in
a deep blue i made for her, so she has 5 total. At least she likes
my work.) |

I made this
in late 2001 when I was in Florida to wear for a trip to Boston in
Feb. 2002. I loved the way this came out and wore it a few times,
but it was incredibly hot, even outside without a jacket in the Boston
winter! So it sits tucked away. |

I made this
cute fuchsia dress for my niece who was 4 in 2002. She wore it often.
It was warm so it worked out for her in the cold Boston winter. |
