Bikes on Buses

Bikes on Buses is a new way to maximize your commute by allowing you to ride your bicycle to any bus stop, load it onto a bus's bike rack, board and ride the bus to your destination, take your bike off the rack, and ride your bicycle to your final destination or another route stop. By allowing this, we allow you to travel farther using our transit system and your bike. The best part is it is FREE!

To use the Bikes on Buses system, you will need to visit any of our transit centers and take the 10-minute training program. At the end of the training, you will receive a HARTline Bikes in Buses ID card. This card will cost $1 and includes the training. Once you have the ID card, you only pay the regular transit fare for riding the buses.

Why are we doing this? Because so many people enjoy riding their bicycle. If more people chose to ride their bike and take the bus, the overall effect is cleaner air and a better environment. Your benefit is less wear and tear on your car, less gasoline to buy for your car, possibly reduced insurance costs for using a commuter program. Some employers may even provide a transportation benefit, since they get a tax break for promoting and paying for employee commuter programs (like vanpools, and monthly bus passes). (*Please check with your individual auto insurance company for discount information. Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a commuter program.)

So help the environment, get some exercise, and enjoy some "read time" on HARTline...use Bikes on Buses!
